Great Quote

I ran across this great quote by Rabindranath Tagore....
"The song that I came to sing remains unsung. I have spent my days in stringing and unstringing my instruments. We're busy-incredibly busy. We're going through the motions but we never seem to reach the level of life where the music begins.
I love this quote because it is a reminder to me that we spend too much of our days in our lives spinning our wheels. That we keep so busy that we do not get to the real purpose of life. That is to do what God has sent us on earth to do. We all have different gifts and talents and He has given us a specific mission and a good we all to do on this earth.
Well I do not have a camera because my daughter lost my camera at a shoe store. So I will be creative until we can replace it.

Scott

This is Scott and he is the oldest in the family. He is 19 and is going to Willow International(a city college). He is able to be in the Fresno State Marching Band. He also loves sports. He is quiet but get a band uniform on him or have him watch a sports game watch out!!!!!

Yes this is Scott in a pink shirt...It is his work shirt for working at Buchanan's softball fields. He loves his job which has him fixing up the softball fields and working during softball tournaments.

This is Scott's good friend Mike Hubble. He has known Mike since he was a freshman at Buchanan. They were in Marching Band then and are still together at Fresno State.

Our family tried to hike Half Dome several years ago. This is Scott right before the cables. He has a few of heights and just could not go up this part of it. It was a fun adventure and I was glad we all did it.

This is snow from a band trip he made with Fresno State. They went to a bowl game in Idaho. So the band left on a bus and travel to go support the football team. They were able to stop and play in the snow on the way.

Oops I am still trying to figure this out. This is Scott again with his friend Mike. Scott has a real love for Marching Band and it is the highlight of the year. He loves going and supporting the teams by playing music.

Felicia

This is Felicia she is 13 going on 30. She is a very energetic and fun girl. She loves being with her friends, playing waterpolo, and being daring and adventuresome.

This is Felicia with her Young Women's leader Sister Hawkins. They were both wearing BYU shirts at a church activity. Felicia really loves being in Young Women's and her leaders make all the difference for her. It is a fun and loving place to be. They are also very loving and patient with her which is greatly appreciated.

Felicia loves being in the Pioneer Park Ward. She has made great friends and enjoy being with her friends. This is the night before girl's camp. Several girls spent the night because we had to be at the church at 6:30am. We had 7 girls sleeping on our trampoline. It was a fun memory even though they did not get to sleep until 3:30am.

This is Felicia, Gina and Shela and they are so much fun to watch and be together. They are so excited for girl's camp tommorrow.

Felicia loves swimming and being in her bathing suit. This is at Hunningtom Lake when we went camping with the Nef family. It was a little chilly even in July but she jumped in the water anyway.

This is Gina and was taken at the Hawkins house the night before our stake had their pioneer park day celebration. I just love this picture it shows a very beautiful and loving side. We are all so happy to be serving with such great people as the Hmongs. It has made our family smile.

Brendan

This is Brendan...He has just turned 16 and is the middle child. I have decided to start with him first. He needs to be first every once in awhile. He is the middle child, second son with a sister behind him. He is full of life, energy and wit. He makes life in our home fun, exciting and never boring.

Brendan loves to sing and this is him singing at Barnes and Noble for a Fund Raiser. Music is an important part of his life. He really knows songs from all genres and the singer who sang those songs. He has learned to play the piano and is still learning. He hopes to learn how to play the guitar this summer. His favorite thing to do is to sing loud in his room. I am so glad that I have patient neighbors.

Brendan also loves to take pictures. He is a fun person who likes to be himself and find the extraordinary. Brendan can find humor and beauty if many things. He also loves to go to Salvation Army and find random T-shirts that help him stand out. This shirt is Dr. Blake and at the bottom it says no cavity club...we have never been to this dentist but he found it to be a cool shirt.

This is Brendan at our Stake EFY. It was 3 days in Sonora and he had a great time. The youth were divided into groups and he was in the Blue group. He has a strong testimony of the gospel and a very strong desire to do the right thing. He has a great heart and is the kind of person that is very humble and nice.

This is Brendan at a service project for church. We helped clean up a senior citizen retirement village. They weeded, sweep cob webs down and picked up trash. It is amazing to see this young people so willing to serve and help others.

This is Brendan and Felicia and the Loves in Arizona. Troy had gone on a mission with the Hmong people. He had clothes for us to try on. Our family is currently serving in the Hmong ward. Brendan really loves it there so much and feels a part and accepted by the youth. He has gotten attached to all his friends there. It has been a huge blessing in his life.

Chuck and Linda

Pioneer Park Ward decorates for stake youth dance!!!!

This is Chuck and I at the Youth Stake Dance that our ward was in charge of. It was a superhero theme and we went to chaperone. Our family has been in the Hmong ward for almost 2 years. It has been the best experience of our lives and we are loving every moment of it. The ward is the most loving and accepting in the world. They have taken in our wierd, wacky, white family and just have embraced us. They have made a permanent inprint in our hearts. The children are loving it there and have made many lifelong friends there. We have learned to love Hmong food and have found making egg rolls a theraputic way to relieve stress. We love purple sticky rice and I am learning to eat spicier food. Well this is the beginning and I am just learning how to use the blog.
